Wednesdays: 6 to 9 pm
Thursdays: 6 to 9 pm
Fridays: Noon to 4 pm
Saturdays: 10 am to 4 pm
Gerber/Hart is located in the Howard Brown Health Clark building, which is a healthcare facility. Face masks are required to enter the building, in Howard Brown spaces, and common spaces like the hallways and bathrooms. Face masks are optional in Gerber/Hart spaces.
It is helpful for researchers (those making use of archives collections, periodicals, or items from Special Collections and making use of a researcher’s table) to let us know ahead of time that they will be coming to do research (please email info@gerberhart.org)
Books may be returned downstairs in the book return box located in Walgreen’s Pharmacy.
Exhibits in Howard Brown waiting room and Walgreens are viewable during their open hours.
Group Tours: Group tours and visits can be arranged, even outside of the above hours listed. Please email info@gerberhart.org to request a group tour.
LOCATION
Gerber/Hart Library and Archives is located at 6500 North Clark Street between Pratt and Devon Avenue. Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the 6500 North Clark Street building. Bus routes #36 Broadway and #151 Sheridan start and end at the turnaround across the street. The #22 Clark Street bus going north stops directly across the street, the #22 going south stops in front of the police station next to Gerber/Hart.
